L’OREAL Exfotonic Exfoliating & revitalizing gel
They say "beauty is only skin deep". I say sometimes that’s deep enough; the skin is after all our body’s largest organ and needs lots of love.

It was with this in mind that, two years ago, I began the search for a body scrub that promised the world and wasn’t shy about delivering it. Long story short: I encountered the 200 ml tube that was the L’Oreal Paris' Exfotonic Exfoliating & revitalizing gel. It claimed that it was suitable for all skin types and offered me skin that would feel transformed and new; skin that was velvety soft, smooth and toned. It preached that thanks to its exfoliating micro breads and alpha hydroxy acids*, I was in for renewed skin cells; rough patches, flakiness and dead skin cells would be removed and I would be left with smooth, clean and clear skin.
I was immediately in love with these words and the scent of the product. But, I just wasn't up for being disappointed by yet another body scrub. So I did what I thought was best: I bought it as a gift for someone else and patiently waited. This person got to thanking me so much after using the product that I then went and got one (or maybe it was two) for myself. I was sold on the EXFOTONIC after one use. I’ve since made a gift of it to a few friends- males and females- and they’ve all given it grades ranging from A- to A+.
What I love about it:
Besides the scent?! Well, I love how easy it is to apply. And I love the light foam and the lovely sensation of the slightly rough, but not harsh, feel of the micro beads against my skin. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that it has delivered on its promises. My skin does feel cleaner, smoother and looks brighter/clearer right after each use. And who doesn’t love seeing results right away? I use the gel once a week (it’s not an everyday gel) and my Dudu-Osun black soap every day. The combination has served me well thus far. I’m a very happy camper. Each time I use the thing, I get in the mood to dress up and go somewhere special. I feel like beautiful skin deserves an audience.
I’m also happy to report that I’ve managed to resist the urge of trying the other products L’Oreal attempts to sell me in the Body Expertise line. They claim that the EXFOTONIC along with the NUTRILIFT, the PERFECTSLIM and the PERFECTSLIM NIGHT form the ideal bodycare programme. But hey, a junkie’s got to know her limits right? And I can’t depend on companies to save me from myself. My skin doesn’t need all that. Well, to be honest, I did try the NUTRILIFT lotion for a few months. But in the end, I gave up and went back to my regular/irregular moisturizing lotion.

*You will discover that products containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) commonly boast of being able to improve the tone, texture and cleanliness of your skin. See a glossary here: http://products.usana.com/en/products/u ... sary.shtmlor here.
