Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Gro Balm - 4 oz
I remember when I made my little pledge to stay away from anything from the Dr. Miracle line. I might be a product junkie…but I wasn’t going to be one of the women who jumped on the latest train. I hated the name- “Dr. Miracle”. And the cheesy-bad commercials just served to strengthen my resolve.
So…long story short- my little pledge got broken. I caved in and bought the Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Gro Balm (Regular). My hairline was suffering some thinning after years of stress from heat, chemicals and one or two other stifling processes. I was desperate to stop the damage before it got out of hand.
My experience:
I didn’t like the “medicated” scent of the product. I didn’t like the “nice” tingling sensation that accompanied my rubbing this medicated-smelling thing into my hairline either. I found myself wondering what “super” felt like if “regular” was this tingly? Maybe I should have gone for “gentle”? Of course, after I stopped being a big baby and so biased, I noticed that the scent disappeared quite nicely and the tingling sensation lasted only for brief seconds.
The promise was that I’d see results in 30 days. So, I grudgingly gave it 30 days. Within the first week, I was more tolerant towards the scent of the thing (I won’t ever love it). Within the second, I was noticing some improvement at the treated areas. By the third week, I took to applying the balm, sparingly to as much of my scalp as I could. Day 30? I was cautiously ready to take on anyone who would dare to come between me and this magnificent balm.
Yes, it seemed to work. The evidence was there staring back at me from my hairline. Growth. (Of course, I was also eating better at the time …so that could have helped!) Anyway, the disaster had been staved off. And I was duty bound to admit that the product seemed to be worth something.
I kept using the balm for about 1 year- massaging it into my temple twice daily. And then, quite logically, because the results were so astounding, I ceased using it. Two years later, I’m about to give it a second go since I’m back at the “Oh no, my hairline!” stage of life.
I’ll let you know how it works out for me. I’m actually also looking to try the Doo Gro Medicated Hair Vitalizer Mega Thick Anti-Thinning Formula. I’ll let you know how that goes as well- if it "goes" at all.
