Nigel Piles it on...
Nigel* had decided to come clean…totally…again. But, not before pausing midway to accuse me of perhaps being one of those people he’d read about- the people who stole identities. He even threatened to do the same amount of digging on me. How had I gotten information on him? Why had I gone looking for it?I reminded him of an earlier conversation we had immediately after he’d confessed to lying about his daughter’s age. Back then, I’d told him that if I were to take him seriously, I would do a certain amount of digging. And he had agreed. He had nothing to hide and didn't mind my digging.

But, right after the fade away, which, should have started the happily ever chapter, things turned sour. Nigel began realizing he had married an incredibly selfish woman. His family and friends still disapproved and his new wife was even more unkind to his daughter. He was unhappy and
Nigel explained that he omitted telling me about this second marriage of his because he didn’t want me to think him a failure. He was confident that I wouldn’t have found him attractive if I knew that he was twice divorced. It was the same reason why he’d lied about his beautiful daughter in the first instance. I was such a good person and he wanted to see where this thing with us would go. He thought it unfair that his past should rise to disqualify him before we even got started. He wanted another chance with me but would understand if I’d had enough.
After the entire story was told…somewhere around our fourth random conversation… I was flabbergasted. Two major lies so early in the game. This one was easy. I had to call it quits. Nigel came with too much baggage…too much lies. I made up my mind to tell him this the next time we talked….
