Mane Texturez week 6
Monday 17th May 2010
When transitioning hair, it is imperative to have your staple tools. These may vary depending on your aim through transitioning, and the method you chose to employ. I thought I would share some of the staple tools within my "hair kit". Next week, I will share some of the products which are integral to my hair care regime. So for the tools:

2.Natural bristle brush. This helps to stimulate the scalp and also helps to carry the natural hair oils all along the hair shaft.

4. Clips and grips. Great for styling as well as everyday wear.

6. Hair straighteners. Used occasionally for checking hair length and for styling which requires it. I keep this to a minimum however, since excessive heat is something I try to avoid at all costs to keep damage to a minimum.
7. A great hairdryer. One with tourmaline infused components ensures hair is protected and nourished from within- conditioning and smoothing the hair for longer lasting tone and a sleek look! One with varying heat settings means that I can adjust and keep heat exposure to a minimum.

What tools could you not live without?

MegaGrowth ProGrowth Stimulating Shampoo.
I'm the type of person who varies the products I use. I don't like the idea of my hair becoming too reliant on any one brand. In terms of shampoo, I have about 3 which I keep in rotation. Each serves a specific purpose, and each have a different effect on my hair.
The Mega ProGrowth Stimulating Shampoo boasts that it: "Protects, restores, repairs and rebuilds fragile, damaged hair for healthier hair growth". The ingredients claim to be a deep penetrating blend of natural minerals, oils & proteins. MegaGrowth strengthens hair from inside out to promote stronger, longer, healthier hair.
This is a great product. It has a nice texture, being quite thick and gloopy, feeling as though it is coating each strand and locking in moisture.
It lathers really well and the scent is pleasant- slightly bubble-gummy.
What I like the most about this product is the fact it feels as though it is infusing my hair with elasticity, creating a more pliable hair strand that is more resilient and less prone to breakage. The smoother follicle means reduced tangling and smoother combing.
I found that by diluting the product it makes it much easier to use, with the same benefits, plus at a cost of roughly £2.99, it's as easy on the purse as it is on the hair.

Just a quick update, to let you know that the hair is holding up well. The style is super easy to maintain, I literally just "Fluff my Puff", spray my braids and I am on my way! I have been oiling my scalp every few days and what I've noticed is that the braids although still neat have definate growth at the roots, a clear sign that there is growth. This probably means that my superoil formula is working!!
This update is also to make you aware of something else which will be coming to Mane soon. Do you think you have a Re:Belle Mane? Then why not send us a picture. Each month we here at Mane Texturez plan to celebrate the Re:belle Mane of the month. So get sending your pics and reasons why you should be the one!!!
Have a great weekend folks
