Well happy holidays and welcome to 2011! Can you believe it, we have passed a decade in this century already?!?!

What’s more Re:Belle and Mane Texturez will soon be celebrating its first Birthday (cards and presents to the usual address if you please! ). On top of that, I’m also coming to the two year anniversary of beginning my natural hair journey (one second while I do my happy dance... ok I'm back). It is this milestone and the spirit of new year “freshness” which forces me to consider what I resolve for the next 12 months.

Now allow me to be clear, I don’t make resolutions, I prefer to make, let's say...considered decisions. However in the spirit of things, the following are my New Year Mane resolutions.

1. Mane beauty starts from the basics, and the basics start from within. That being said, my first resolution is about taking better care of myself. Drink more water, take vitamins daily, continue eating fruit and veg at the high levels I currently do and the usual New year resolution of doing more exercise. This combination should reap benefits untold.                                                                                        
2.  2011 for me will be the year of minimalism. I had a big clear out recently and discovered to my shock and to my friend’s chorus of “I told you so” that I am an unashamed product junkie. Looking back there have been times I found myself in a place like Boot’s or Superdrug or a hair product shop looking for ONE thing and before you know it I’ve been in there for half an hour looking at EVERYTHING, with a perpetual arm strain after all the extras I’ve put in my basket! Now that I know what core products work for my current hair type (an update is forthcoming) , I resolve to only purchase those products, only trying something new when one of the products I currently use is actually finished and I am looking to replace it anyway! That should be kinder on my purse as well as my cupboard space.                     



3. I resolve to be more adventurous with my looks, in both hair and makeup.  I have always had an admiration for those who take risks with their aesthetic and in that vein I resolve that its time my look matched my attitude.                                                                                                              
4.  Considering the above, I resolve to bring you more fresh and original content. I’ve always said that Mane Texturez is about more than hair, and so in conjunction with our YouTube page Re:Bellenation, did I mention you should check it out and subscribe =) , I will be bringing you more in the way of “vlog” material to accompany this blog. So that means tutorials, reviews, hauls and the like. Look out for that! More information coming soon.                                                                      
5.  Will see deep conditioning as a pampering treat rather than a chore. I don’t deep condition my hair nearly enough. I must admit I have got immensely better at moisturising my hair, but deep conditioning more often will be immensely beneficial. (n.b coming soon will be a video of an intense deep conditioning treatment I have been using and how to prepare it).

I’d say 5 is more than enough resolutions to keep me going for a year wouldn’t you agree? What are your new year hair resolutions? Any hair goals you have in mind?
