Updates for my Mane crew...

So, in last week's Style x-change, I spoke about the power of accessories, and also about how I had been somewhat inspired by The Uniform project. My quest was to find some way to incorporate a bit of the Uniform Project spirit into my own wardrobe, by working around a particular item and either dressing it up or down with a variety of different accessories in order to create distinctive looks. The hunt for the base item to start this off has initially proven difficult to source, since it seems at the moment, embellishment is playing a large part in the current designs. I don't want anything particularly embellished, since it then makes it harder to create more diverse ranges of looks.

I have managed to find an option however, which I think may serve the purpose. As soon as it is delivered and it has past all tests (I am very picky with online shopping, I know full well how things aren't always as they are presented to appear), you will be introduced to said item and will also be introduced at regular intervals to the differing ways it can be rocked.

The latest update from Mane, is that there isn't much of an update! I currently have my hair in a similar style to the one I wore to New York. Pic below for those of you who don't remember.

The only real difference with the style is that the braids are bigger. I had a different stylist braid my hair on this occasion, plus I didn't have the intention of keeping this style in for too long either, so i requested it be done with medium sized cornrows as opposed to the small ones pictured to the left.

This style may soon be my go to style as it offers me the versatility of singles (I can wear it up or down), without the tediousness of taking a whole day to braid my thick head of hair (since 60% is cornrowed away).

I will probably be taking down my hair this weekend for a full deep condition so will be able to give a full update on what's happening with my hair, the progress with my curls (I have cut my hair a couple times in the past two months, so it will be interesting to see what's happening since then) and also re-evaluating my progress and what my next step will be.

I know what I'm hoping for... no more straggly relaxed ends, but only time will tell if I'm any closer.

Tune in next week for the latest...
