So I received an email yesterday, asking for help. A reader wanted to know how I managed to keep myself motivated and interested in my Natural hair journey. Well, my answer is simple. Accessories. I struggle, massively, at times to find interesting things to do with my hair, being in-between lengths ( I recently did my second mini Big Chop) and in-between textures hair styling can prove to be tedious. This is where accessories come into play.

So what hair accessories am I referring to? Big flowers, elaborate headbands, feathers, bows, hair slides, hair grips, headscarves in different textures, colours and fabrics, all help to create beautiful hair looks. A strong hair accessory is the difference between fly and drab; a simple hairstyle can instantly be transformed.

They also act as little life savers. Sometimes, if time isn't permitting or your hair isn't behaving as you would like, the right accessory will take the stress out of hairstyling.
